Peak Design 45L Travel Backpack

It may sound crazy, but I love this backpack.

I rarely have the opportunity to travel light, since I'm usually carrying multiple pieces of luggage, full of camera and lighting gear. But on a recent location scout for a commercial production in Los Angeles, I challenged myself to refine my 'One Bag Travel' setup, using my Peak Design 45L Travel Backpack.

One Bag Travel is legit fun!

I've had this backpack for around two years, but it's usually paired alongside multiple other pieces of gear and luggage.

Due to its smaller footprint, I also own the Peak Design 30L, which I use as my daily backpack.

However, nothing beats the 45L version for one bag travel. It's a beast, and it fits everything from my Aeropress travel coffee kit, running shoes, a camera and lens, iPad/Laptop, and all the clothing and toiletries needed for a trip like this.

It also helps when paired with their official packing and camera cubes, which are made specifically for the dimensions of the travel backpack.

I've become that dude who loves using packing cubes.

I've even got my wife on board now, with her own toiletry bag and packing cubes. And our new Peak Design luggage, which we backed on Kickstarter recently, has arrived. I am SO looking forward to using the luggage on an upcoming trip.

As a commercial photographer and director who travels for all of my productions, having the right gear extends beyond my camera. From loading on and off planes, Ubers, and hotels, when given the chance to travel light, I'm about it.
